Continuing the tradition of providing quality music since its founding in 1949, the Fort Dodge Area Symphony proudly presents its 2011-2012 concert season. Our musical director and conductor for the past seven seasons, Dr. Eric McIntyre, resigned at the end of the previous season so that he could spend more time with other endeavors, especially with his family. While a replacement is being found, the Symphony concerts will be led by four guest conductors. The theme for the 2011-12 concert season is Welcome Home Our Treasures - A Season of Guest Conductors. Two of the guest conductors, Ross Leeper and Dennis Root, have directed the Symphony in the past. The October, December, and March concerts will also feature soloists who have Fort Dodge area connections. Finally, the Young Artists concert, which is always a favorite with audiences, concludes our season in April. For more details on the concerts, please explore the individual concert pages listed under the Concert Season menu at the top of this page. If the menu does not appear, the concert pages can also be accessed through the buttons at the bottom of the Concert Season page. We hope you will join us for the captivating music at all of the concerts and invite your friends and neighbors to share it with you. |
