Young Artists' Concert

This
concert will showcase four winners from our annual Young Artists'
auditions who will perform with the orchestra. These soloists
represent the finest young musicians Iowa has to offer. We will get a
double dose of great music with the performances of two pianists and
two vocalists. Adding to the excitement, the orchestra unveils the
world premiere performance of jazz musician Michael Titlebaum's
Latino Sambosa, a tango for orchestra.
Meet
the four winners of the auditions (Click on their names for more
biographical information):

Jennifer
Edmondson, piano, will perform the Beethoven Piano Concerto
No. 1, 1st movement. She is a junior at Iowa State University, Ames,
Iowa, and the daughter of Bill and Deb Edmondson, Ames. Her teacher
is Dr. William David, Iowa State University.

Chelsea
Wang, piano, will perform the Saint Saens Piano Concerto No.
2, 1st movement, Andante sostenuto. She is in 8th grade, 13 years
old, and the daughter of Sumin Chen, West Des Moines, Iowa. Her
teacher is Ksenia Nosikova, West Des Moines.

Natalie
Ramlow, soprano, will perform the Rossini, "Una voce
pocofa" from The Barber of Seville. She is a sophomore student
at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. Her teacher is Rachel
Joselson, University of Iowa. She is the daughter of Richard and
Donna Ramlow, Wilmette, Illinois.

Amelia
Kischer-Browne, soprano, will perform the Mussorgsky,
"Where Are You, Little Star?" from Youthful Years . Her
teacher is Rosemary Gast. She is a high school senior and daughter of
Karlene Kischer-Browne, Waterloo, Iowa.
