Jive For Five

The brass quintet called "Jive for Five" took the name from one of their favorite tunes in their vast repertoire of brass music. All five members are band directors in the Fort Dodge area and have been playing together for many years in different organizations including the Karl King Band and the Fort Dodge Area Symphony. |
Playing 1st Trumpet is Tim Miller. Tim is the Middle School Band Director with the Humboldt Community School.
Playing 2nd Trumpet is David Swaroff. Dave is the Middle School Band Director with the Southeast Webster Community School.
On French Horn is Kathy Yoakam. Kathy is the Elementary Band Director with the Humboldt Community Schools.
Playing Trombone is Dan Cassady. Dan is the Band Director at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.
On Tuba is Paul Bloomquist. Paul is the High School Band Director with the Manson Community Schools.
The group has been featured at concerts of the Karl King Band, Fort Dodge Area Symphony and has also played at various engagements in the area, such as the "Music and Desserts" recital of the Symphony, "This is Entertainment" at Iowa Central Community College, Friendship haven, Fort Dodge Crossroads Mall and a number of area weddings and church services.
