Ross Leeper
Conductor

     Ross Leeper returns as conductor of the Symphony. He previously served as conductor from 1978 to 1985. During his time as band director of the Eagle Grove Middle School, he had numerous students selected as young artist winners perform on the Young Artist Concert. Following his tenure at Eagle Grove, Leeper moved to Indianola to become Director of Bands at Simpson College. He continues to live in Indianola and is currently high school band director in Knoxville.

     Mr. Leeper has been very active in both the Iowa Bandmasters Association and the American School Band Directors Association. He is past president of both organizations. He is a founding member of the American School Band Directors Association’s Education Foundation and has served as chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
